Hello again, everyone! For the second stop on my trip, I headed to this place:
I got to the park at about 9:00AM, and waited patiently for the rope to be dropped so I could get over
to Voyage. I got on in the back seat within 20 minutes,
and then the front seat in about 30 or 40 minutes.
Voyage... is... AWESOME!!!111~
First a few pics, mainly of the final turnaround:
So, I guess GG makes really nice wooden coasters!
I can definately see how this made #1. You start off with the little downhill from the station,
and then a quick S-bend up into the lift.
The lift really moves, and gets you up and over nice and quick. Back seat had the best air, IMHO.
There wasn't a ton of air on the first drop (there was some),
but the second and third drops had plenty of it.
Then comes the crazy turnaround section with a high lat turn in a
tunnel, then curving up and left, then down
and right, then dipping down and turning left.
Then come the ejector curves where the banking is opposite of normal banks,
so you get thrown out of your seat.
It slows down a bit as you get onto the MCBR, but then it takes off again through the triple down
(way more air in the back).
Then a bunch more curves and drops gets you back to the station
turnround, where you dive through the queue, then do a bit of a figure 8 with one last tunnel as
you hit the brakes.
Wow... just wow... I was looking at the stats on RCDB and it said that it was only 6.5 mil...
just like Renegade...
Renegade is a great ride, and is way smoother than Voyage
(not too rough, but enough that it started to bother me after a while),
but it isn't nearly as long or exciting as the crazy twists on Voyage.
Anyway, after those first two rides, I decided to go over to Legend.
I got on in the back seat after about 30 minutes.
I had forgotten how big it actually is, seeing as how most of it is out of view.
There was some good air in the back, and that helix was wicked with Gs
(not as bad as Beast, though).
When I got off, the line was a lot longer, so I moved on to Raven.
I got on in (you guessed it) the back seat in about 30 minutes.
It was another good ride, with nice air and lats.
I decided to go get some food (at about 11:50 or so) at the nearby Goblin Burger.
This was probably the cheapest park meal I have ever had.
Two hotdogs, fries, and a cookie for about $5.50.
The hotdogs were of good quality (Valleyfair hotdogs by XS are better though),
and so were the fries.
For those of you who aren't in the know about the neat
little things at Holiday World, they have these stands:
You go in and get free pop/gatorade/tea. That's right. FREE!
It's a great way to encourage unhealthy eating habits.
I try to avoid drinking pop whenever I can, so I just got nice filtered water from them instead.
Water = PWN and water > gatorade for long periods of activity.
I then more or less repeated everything I did (minus the food).
The waits for Voyage were much longer at 45/50 min for the front and back.
Legend was practically a walk on.
That was my last ride of the day, as I was reaching my endurance limit for wooden coasters.
Oh yeah, I was actually asked to remove my keys!
The ones that are attached to my pants via-carabiner:
One time I was able to just put them in one of my buttoned pockets, but others I was not.
I found that to be very odd, seeing as how there is no way that is coming off other than by an act of god,
and it seems that if buttoned pockets are good enough for TTD,
they should be good enough for pretty much anything.
I didn't lose anything while I was at WoF on Patriot or Boomerang
or Mamba...
Oh well. Probably won't be back for a long time anyway.
Next stop is Dollywood.
