| Cedar Point Trip Report July 23rd and 24th My last visit to Cedar Point in 2004 was amazing, it really made me love roller coaster so much more, and made me want to return sometime in the future. That opportunity came through when my family decided to take a vacation in Sandusky this summer, where we were allowed to spend two days within the park, riding as much as we possibly could. In my previous trip, it was unfortunate that I couldn't ride Top Thrill Dragster or Wicked Twister, due to downtime lasting my entire stay. However, I knew this time that I may be given a chance to ride both of those rides, plus the more recent additions of Maverick, MaXair, and Skyhawk. Anyway...
July 23rd
We started our day with breakfast at Diana's, then immediately left to head to Cedar Point, where we arrived around 11:15. My sister decided after I bought the tickets, that she rather not go, which really pist me off. My parents arent really into coasters and rides, and informed me to not buy tickets for them, so my brother and me were the only one's who went. Heres what me and my brother rode that day...
Maverick: (1 hour 15 minute wait) The very moment our train left the station it started to rain, which was pretty disapointing. The ride was amazing and it had so much to offer, but at the same time I was getting hammered with rain drops, it felt like I was being shot with an AirSoft gun. However, the rain didn't prevent me from enjoying this great addition to the park. 9/10
Millenium Force: (1 hour 30 minute wait) When we got in line, the rain had pretty much stopped, or so I thought. After about ten minutes of waiting it began to pour down heavily, which was then followed with hail. Alot of people began to leave the line, while other like myself bared it all, where we all clustered under the tarps to protect from the falling hail. Through it all, what I did find pretty entertaining was the DJ, who continuously played songs reflecting the situation. For example, he played Milli Vanilli's song "Blame it on the Rain", Princes "Purple Rain" and so on. Eventually the rain finally stopped and the sun came out, and after about twenty minutes Millenium Force was back in operation. This is where the DJ then began to play the Black Eyed Peas song "Lets get it Started". Anyway, after about an additional twenty to thirty minutes we boarded the train, and began our journey. The ride was pretty amazing, and it still ranks as my favorite coasters amongst all the other coasters I've ridden. 10/10
Top Thrill Dragster: (1 hour 30 minutes) I was not able to ride Top Thrill on my last visit due to downtime. This time, the ride seemed to be working better than ever, where I didnt notice any downtime what so ever. I had ridden Kingda Ka before, and in all honestly after riding this, the experience is about the same. I think their about tied. 9.5/10
Magnum XL-200: (45 minutes) I think Magnum is just a tad overated, its still a great coaster and everything, its just not that great. I think it top fifty worthy, but not really top ten worthy. 8/10
Sky Ride: (10 minute wait) I had never rode this ride, plus my brother suggested it probably be a good ride to take pictures, so I was all in. I took several pictures on it, even though I read signs which said, pictures are not to be taken on the ride...my bad.
Raptor: (35 minute wait) The good thing about Raptor, is they have one of the best crews I've ever seen, their so efficient. They keep things at a pretty quick pace, where your out of the station pretty quickly, they dont waste no time at all. Anyway, of all the inverts that I have been on, Raptor is the best. 9/10
MaXair: (15 minute wait) I have been on Delirium at Kings Island, so its pretty much the exact same ride, but just a diffferent name. I have heard people say, that the ride goes on for a rather short duration, and it didn't seem that way during my visit. Anyway, its a great ride. 10/10
Disaster Transport: (45 minute wait) I know many of you hate Disaster Transport, but I actually really enjoy it. It give you the opportunity to get out of the heat, and ride a pretty decent coaster, even though its not massive like their other ones. 6/10
Giant Wheel: (5 minute wait) I took several pics on this ride, while also allowing me time to just relax.
Wicked Twister: (15 minute wait) I had never been on this coaster before, it was down the entire time on my last stay, which was pretty disapointing. This ride really frightened me at first, because while in line I watched the ride, and noticed that the uppermost part of it sways in the wind. It seems that the tallest part of ride, doesn't really have nearly as much supports as the rest, which I thought was kinda odd. It turns out, that it was a pretty good coaster, despite my mild fears about it. 8/10
July 24th
We arrived at the park around 11:00, right after we had breakfast at Diana's once again, while my sister still refused to go to the park.
Space Spiral: (5 minute wait) The ride was pretty quick, and I took a few pictures while riding it, but wish it lasted a little bit longer.
Power Tower Turbo Shot (10 minute wait) I've rode a similar ride like this at Holiday World, but this one is alot larger in size, but doesn't pack as much punch. It seems that the launch is rather week, its just not as intense as I thought it would be. However, I still loved this ride and really prefer it this way. Other drop towers scare the crap out of me, where as this one was actually fun, allowing me to really enjoy the experience. 9.5/10
Wildcat: (40 minute wait) I didn't ride this ride last time, since I really didn't think it was worth my time, yet I decided I would this time around. It was actually a pretty decent ride, though it looks really out of place, just doesn't look like it would belong in Cedar Points line up at all. 5/10
Lake Erie Railroad: (no wait) I thought I sit back and relax on this ride, where I also took several pictures.
Skyhawk: (15 minute wait) My last visit, this ride didn't even exist, so I just knew I had to ride it this time around. The ride was amazing. I think its about a tie with MaXair, thier both really great rides. 10/10
Woodstock Express: (5 minute wait) I felt like a little pansy waiting in line for this, but I needed it for the count, so oh well. The ride was pretty good for a kiddy coaster, probably one of the better kiddie coasters I've been on. 3/10
Gemini: (15 minute wait) Me and my brother rode on the blue side, simply because it had a shorter line, where we rode in the very back. The ride isn't great, but still pretty good for a coaster of its age. 6.5/10
Millenium Force: (2 hour wait) This time we rode in the very front, where I got a few bugs plastered on my shirt. Still amazing. 10/10
Magnum-XL 200: (30 minute wait) This time we rode in the very back car, where I soon realized that wasn't the best decision, since its quite a bit rougher back their. I suggest the middle or the very front to anyone wanting to ride this ride. 4/10
Then I headed to one of the souvenir shops by Top Thrill, where I bought a few t-shirts and stuff. Then my brother participated in a few games, like the 3-point challenge, where he bricked or air-balled all the shots...it was pretty embarassing.
We then left the park, where we then got pizza from a place called East of Chicago, which was actually pretty good. Then, we played put-put at Goofy Golf.
I hope to return someday soon, its always fun going to Cedar Point.
