| Cedar Point Trip Report July 24th I've never gone to Cedar Point twice in one season, so when my parents gave me the opportunity to take a friend and go for my birthday, I was pretty psyched. We got to the park about 9:40 AM and entered through the back so we could be closer to Maverick. We ran over there and got in line, which was about 45 minutes long, due to the fact that those who were staying in resorts had already entered the park. We waited for the front row, and enjoyed every second of it. One thing I love about Maverick is that the harness is not as bulky as B&M coasters, so I could put my hands up. I posed for the camera.
After Maverick, my friend and I left our parents to go ride Mean Streak. Strangely enough, the ride was smoother than normal. I came off without my usual headache, which dissapoints me, 'cause I really like that shaken-up feeling on wooden coasters. My dad rode it later, same row, same train, and had a very rough experience. Strange. Musta been the time of day. Once again, I posed for the camera.
We dashed to Gemini and rode the red train front row. We were going to ride blue when we discovered they were slowing the blue trains down as they left the station. So we went on red. And lost.
My friend can't stand spinning, so I rode Witches' Wheel by myself. I did not like it as much. It was quite a bit more disorienting. Afterwards, we rode Magnum. It was a bit longer wait than normal, but still an enjoyable ride, especially from the front row. The last time I rode Magnum, the lap bar slammed into my legs on the bunny hills, giving me two huge bruises. The funny part about this was that it caused me to put my left arm down and on the lap bar during the picture, which gave the impression I was in a rodeo. So I imitated that picture as a joke for my pose.
We walked over to Chik-Fil-A to meet with my parents (we have NONE in Michigan) The food there is so good, but it's very expensive, so we split a waffle fry. My parents told me that the Millenium wait was only described by the front row line, which was very long. So we decided to head over there, but took a detour to ride Cedar Creek Mine Ride. DON'T RIDE IT! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! There were 2 trains going, it was short, the ride was long. We ran away from it and went to Millenium.
The line was a tad underestimated, or it seemed that way, as my friend and I began to overheat. I became even more depressed when the DJ played *NSYNC. I ALMOST CRIED. The song finally ended, and we boarded the second row. It was a great ride. I posed for the camera.
I recieved a call from my parents telling me the Raptor line was short. So we drank a boatload of water and headed over that way. The wait was actually accurate for once. My friend and I had the front row to ourselves when we got on. The new video system is amazing, but the DVD is slightly dissapointing. It does show your ride, but it switches to a POV and Target view occasionally, not of your ride. Still, it's a cool system, and it's likely to appear on other rides soon.
My dad decided to ride Dragster. Since it's no longer a record holder, I didn't think it was worth it unless it was a 15 minute wait. After 30 minutes, my dad was about to get on. Then it broke down. So after an extra 45 minutes, my dad boarded the ride, and I got a great video of it from the stands.
My friend and I both rode Corkscrew, and then we all went and rode Iron Dragon and the Train. The Train from Millenium to Maverick has great views of some rides so I took a boatload of pictures. We checked the wait for Maverick and it was long, so we all did Gemini again. My friend and I rode blue, my parents rode red. As the red train left the station, it was completely halted for about 2 seconds, so my friend and I destroyed my parents.
My dad and I rode Magnum one more time, and we left about 7:30 PM. We stopped in Toledo to eat at Tony Pacco's. It was good, but don't get the M*O*A*D! It's good, but it's huge! We finished there, and we went home, happy with our day at the park.
