| | | Dollywood 9/5 & 9/6 Well I made it to dollywood Friday 9/5 & Saturday 9/6. I didnt think I would make on Friday after a 7hr drive but I did. I got there about 3:30pm and got my ticket I knew I could use it the next day for free which worked out great. Friday, just me and my boyfriend went. We hit Thunderhead first since last time I came to DW it was closed and I missed out on it. We went thru the entrance and wow a total walk on. Thunderhead was totally awesome, its ranked my 2nd fav woodie right under el toro. It just had that insane out of control feeling that I love in a rollercoaster. Next we hit MM, about a 1 train wait. MM is great in the front, but in the 2nd row I experienced some horrible ear whacking, I mean to the point my ears were on fire when I exited. MM has great theming and I love the last drop, heartline roll and immleman at the end, what a finale. Then walked by river battle and thought we would wait and hit this Saturaday when we had our 5yo daughter. Saturday it was about a 5min wait.
BTW all the lines were almost walk ons on both days even Saturday I couldnt believe it. River battle was really neat, you get really wet on it . My daughter really enjoyed it. We now are headed to TT. This is absolutly the best arrow out there if just it were longer. Also the smoothest by far. This was a complete walk on as well. Saturday a 1 train wait. Next was blazing fury another walk on both days. This is pretty neat and gets really dark in some parts of the ride but the drops are cool in the dark. We alson did Daredevil falls and river rampage-I wasnt too impressed with RR as I didnt get wet enough and it was rather boring . I got some of the potatoes with cheese on them and they were disgusting, that was the first time I have eaten at DW and probably the last.
DW was a great park with some good rides and very friendly staff. I will definatly go back in years to come.

| | | Thunderhead is probably the best coaster you could just walk onto. It's consistently walk on-able. The longest I ever had to wait was just 15-20 minutes on a Saturday. Still basically nothing.

| | | When the park opens in the mornings is when the line for Thunderhead is long. Me and my friend went a few weeks ago and went to ride it first and the line was all the way outside to the gift shop, so we waited til like 3:00 and we rode it 5 times in 30 minutes. The line is MUCH shorter in the afternoon.

| | | There has been times that the Thunderhead line would come out to the gift shop, go past the coca-cola truck stand and past the bathrooms.
It is amazing!
But the crew does a good job on getting the guest onto the ride in the fastest and safest manner possible!

| | | Everyone tends to go around the 'loop' in a clockwise motion- those cunning souls will go counter-clockwise to beat the crowds. Start in Craftsman's Valley then head over into the Canyon, not vice versa.
I.E. Tornado dosen't get busy til 12-1, see my point...

| | | Basically the same logic I had in 2007 as I was in that Mystery Mine line first thing in the morning near that former dead end. My later in the week 2nd day I cashed in.
I agree "loop" is such a new word there.

| | To be perfectly honest, those potatoes are either delicious or raw, its luck of the draw which you get. They would have gladly refunded your purchase though, as Pete said, Dollywood claims to have and actually follows through on its 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, unlike some other parks that merely use it for PR.

| | | What's with the growing amount of photo takers around the park? I can handle being harassed once at the front gate, but now they are all over the place aggressively trying to stop you for a picture - its kind of getting annoying.
Especially with the new mural thing at the train depot. Souvenir photos of you standing in front of a giant train picture...does somebody want the money that bad? |

| | Children, let us not argue over 'best food location'... it's all good.
Now, stop this bickering or we won't be going to McDonald's, we will pull over and go back home!
