| | | Six Flags Great America - Advice Request Dear fellow park lovers,
I am going to be able to hopefully visit Six Flags Great America on Friday 10/10/08. I will be in the area for my nephew's graduation from Navy basic training. I have only been to Dollywood, Holiday World, and Six Flags St Louis. I have been looking at the SFGA website and scoping the rides. The park is open that night from 5 until 11. I want to prioritize the correct things as i am sure there will be some lines (hopefully it won't be too busy as it will be in the 50's). Can you please tell me what i should experience from high priority to low priority. I doubt i'll ever be up that way again. It will be my first time going thru Chicago! Thanks if you can provide any help. If not, I understand also. Thanks either way. |

As far as the rides go.. I "Wouldn't miss" V2, Raging Bull, Viper, and Whizzer.
I guess a lot of people would say don't miss Superman - Ultimate Flight (but it does nothing for me so I myself would skip it) - Same goes for Dark Knight.
The park also has a few flats that are worth checking out. Fiddler's Fling, Giant Drop, Revolution.

| | | Since its Friday and school is in Session Around Here, The Lines Should be short from 5-7pm, So I would do this:
1: Superman- Slow Moving Lines because of the Flying Move in the Station
2: Ragin Cajun- Less People per Hour than TDK and I believe has a Singe Rider Line
3: V2- 1 Train Operation will cause slow lines
4: Batman- Its Right across from V2
5: Spacely- If you need to ride every coaster in the World, this is a Vekoma Junior Coaster 207M
6: Iron Wolf- Rough but its A B&M Stand Up
7: Revolution/ Fiddler's Fling- Both are Cool rides
8: American Eagle- There Might be Very Long Lines By Now
-- You Might Be Getting Hungry/ Thirsty by now so go to the Farmers Market Food Court
9: Go Under the Corkscrew of Demon and hold the Support (You can feel it rumble if the train is going)
10: Hellevator- Giant Drop- It's Good
11: Raging Bull- No Matter how the Long the Line is by now, It Will Move Fast
-- If you want there's a Haunted House in the Area
12: Go Ride Viper
13: Go On Demon- The Lines Usually will move Pretty Fast
14: If its still light outside by now, Run to Dark Knight and Be Disapointed
15: If its Dark Right Now, Go on Whizzer (Being around trees makes for a good Night Ride)
16: Go to the Grand Music Hall and See "Love at First Fright" (MUST DO HALLOWEEN MUSICAL!!!!)
-- If there's still time, go ride/see anything you want
17: Be at Hometown Square about 25 minutes before Closing and See the Zombie Jamboree Parade
-- Ride Columbia Carousel ?
18: Do Anything you want OR Go Home |

| | | Thanks so much for the help! The plans have changed and now I and my family will be going on Saturday so I will have all day! I think I will feel less rushed. I hope to get there at opening time. I will still keep these ideas in mind. |

| | | Maybe someday Intamin will try it. Mr. Freeze can run 2 trains. I'm sure Intamin could come up with something like that if they really wanted.

| | | ^With their wacky track configurations it doesn't seem far fetched Intamin would try to have a dual sliding station like Mr. FREEZE if they wanted one. I agree.
It's Frightfest so that usually brings lines? It's Friday so it's a toss up call for me but SFGAMboy I'll trust.
Dark Knight at SFGADV is my favorite Wild Mouse, though I hate the genre. The drops are a fun surprise. The turns are not extreme where they'd bother me. I'd choose that Mouse over Ragin Cajun. I do not care for that layout model.

Europa Park's coaster will be better than Maverick.

| | | I just can't wait. This will bring my theme park adventures up to four different parks(Dollywood, Holiday World, Six Flags St Louis, and now Six Flags Great America). I didn't get to spend alot of time at Six Flags ST Louis so this will make up for it. My goal is to go to the closest theme park around when i have to go somewhere. This trip was totally unexpected. It will be a blast. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
