| From HW to SFOG: AA or Lake Winnie?
During my vacation in June I may have to see my sister in Columbus to return her car that is due for inspection in NJ this month. If I end up going afterwards to Louisville and do Holiday World then go south towards SFOG, should I go towards Lake Winnie or Alabama Adventures on my way there? Which of the two parks should I get? At the beginning of the year I was first planning an Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana vacation. Since Freestyle Music Park came into the equation I accelerated my focus on the South. I may consider KI-Coney-SFKK-HW-BB-(AA or Lake Winnie)-SFOG-Carowinds-FMP-FK during my week. Huge ground to cover. I wish I could get SFStL- sigh.

I have not been to either park. I do know that Lake Winnie is a small park. mostly older rides if your looking for more modern and thrill rides you might find more to do at AA. though if you go to AA you will likely pass by Lake Winnie could stop for a couple hours hit the interesting attractions and drive the rest of the way to Atlanta. Since you will likely be staying teh night in Atlanta the night before hitting SFOG i would recommend goign to Stone Mountain. The laser show on the mountain side is amazing.

The Boat Chute, Cannonball, and OhZone are reason enough to make the trip to Lake Winnie even if you have limited time. You can pay per ride if time is limited and I must say Castle is an interesting dark ride. The park is beautiful at night I think it should definitely be on your to do list. One of my favorite parks of all times.

I thouroughly enjoyed my short visit to Lake Winnie. I only rode the 2 coasters and the train, but enjoyed the boardwalk, gift shop, and taking pictures of the older rides. Looking back, I do wish I had done the all day ticket and enjoyed the skyride and a couple of thrill rides. AA wasn't considered because it would already be a long drive between Nashville and Atlanta by myself in one day. It looks like a decent park from the website. Have a good trip!

Lake Winnie is a fun, small park that wouldn't take long to do everything. They have a few unique flat rides, like the Fly-o-Planes. If I'm not mistaking The Cannon Ball wooden coaster is an Ace coaster classic. It's your basic out and back. Wild Lightning is a whip lash wild mouse. The Boat Chute is a cool, OLD log flume ride! If you've never been swing by for a few hours! It's a nice park to relax at.

I'm glad for everyone's help and honesty. Even James told me that Lake Winnie is a great place to go to. The other place is missing one S&S Tower and I would have to walk up a hill to get to the Boomerang.

Hey Leo, when in June are you going to SFOG? You might see me there if you decide to visit Skull Island.

I'm now starting from the other end. I'm getting my car repaired this week in preparation. June 6th - Homepark SFGADV for Toby Mac concert (Funny that Wes is going to see him 6/13 at Carowinds) 7th - Drive down to MB (Stop at BGW for Griffon & Grover Alpine?) or Charlotte for Carowinds with Wes 8th - FMP - FK probably with Wes 9th - 1st ever Carowinds visit if I didn't go to Charlotte first. 10th - Probable 1st ever SFOG visit 11th - up towards Lake Winnie, breeze through Nashville to Bowling Green - Beech Bend 12th - HW - SFKK- Coney Island to Columbus to my sister's 13th - Kings Island with sister 14th - drop sister at airport go to Altoona (Lakemont-Delgrosso's) on the way home. I wish and wish I could go to SFStL to get Mr. Freeze.

I did it in 2007 for a family vacation, Mystery Mine's addition. Now if Ghost Town debuts Cliffhanger, hmmm.

Should I bring the computer along? It's near my vacation time. My car is not ready so I think I will go rent from the airport Sunday. I believe I will call this my Southern Rock Coaster Tour.

I may or may not be working next Wednesday. If I am, I'll be there. I hope it warms up down here. Cold, rainy weather + cold water = bad idea for Skull Island.

I did both! I'm highlighting it in my Southern Rock Tour TR. I'm on the last 1/4 of the update.
