| Southern California Trip Help
Okay. So, I had originally planned on a Florida trip in the winter, but due to cost and HArry Potter probably not being open in December, I decided to push that to summer 2010 and go with a Southern California trip this summer instead. I will be staying at the Knott's Berry Farm hotel, trip will probably last 6 days 5 nights, and will be sometime in August. I will be traveling with my mom, who can tolerate coasters with Airborne, and my sister, who refuses to ride the big coasters. Oh, and we will only be able to go to Knott's Berry Farm and six Flags Magic Mountain (first time at SFMM). What I need to know is how will the crowds be at both parks, if Flash Pass will be necessary, what are good coasters and rides for my sister and mom and what route should we take to get all the great coaswters at SFMM (am going with someone who loves coasters on that park)! Any help would be great, especiallly on SFMM.

Knott's is a fairly small park all things considered.... You can navigate around it pretty easily, although they have a lot of stuff over a small space. The Pony Express is an awesome smaller coaster, and there's several good choices of family type rides there as well. SFMM is VERY spread out, prepare to do a lot of walking. If you get the chance, ride X2, I know your mom and sister won't want to ride it but it's a must ride. Check out the sites and enjoy the park, it is amazing. Ninja would be a good coaster for your sister as well as the Mine Ride one(don't remember the name), Superman is awesome too, Tatsu... when I went there wasn't a lot of people, but I don't know how the crowds are in august. There really isn't a path around SFMM as it is such a huge park, and you will see that pulling into the parking lot. Oh and Colossus is a GREAT wooden coaster. Sorry if this was all over the place, but I hope I could be of help. ~Ellen

When you go to SFMM go clock-wise around the park. That way when you get done with Tatsu you can go up the "less steep" side of the mountain to Samurai Summit -- if you wait and go up the otherside, down by the log flume under Ninja, you will really have a "huff-n-puff" climb ahead of you.

It took me 2 visits to get all the coasters at SFMM in 2006 because they didn't open a couple then each visit. Flashback was already SBNO. You weren't missing much with Pscyclone. Riddler's is awesome.
