SFKK and Holiday World 5/29-5/31

Holiday World 09 pictures by CoastinKatie - Photobucket

-Drove to Cincy Thursday night and stayed at hotel to break up the drive. Was well worth it.

-SFKK was an OK park. T2 sucked a**. Period. Chang was ok, wish it didn't kill my legs though. It was kinda painful. Greezed Lightnin' was the best and most re-rideable in the park. Kinda hard to navigate and the fact that Twisted Twins was just sitting back there rotting made me beyond mad.

-Crazy drivers on the freeway caused a major accident and a Scion to be crushed on both ends. No fun for them, more traffic for us.

-Lake Rudolph was awesome. The rental RV's were worth the money we paid especially with the convenience to the park, and the shuttles all day and night long. Check in was a breeze and we were in a secluded part of the campground.

-Registration was a breeze and done in two minutes. We were let in an hour before the event started and got to ride some stuff before we had to be in the grove for our yearly talk about safety and fun jokes.

-Will Koch and his maintenance team are amazing. Got Legend up and running for ERT Friday night and Pilgrim's Plunge open for ERT Saturday morning. This park rocks it out!

-Coasters were running off the chain. Especially after the huge thunderstorm that came in during the picnic Saturday night. Got the woodies really lubed up and cranked up for ERT. They were running so fast it wasn't even funny. Even the designers (Gravity Group) said it was running so fast.

-Bought Chad Miller's time (1/2 hour) for charity and got to ride Voyage and Legend with him. Also got to pick his brain about coasters and certain parks. Was very very disappointed about Villain being scrapped. IF Cedar Fair would have moved the coasters, they would have reprofiled some of the turns and articulated some stuff to make it a better and improved ride. From the designers mouth himself. Cedar Fair didn't care to do so. Very sad if you ask me.

-Everything was perfect. Food was excellent at Holiday World. Very value priced. Thanksgiving dinner for 9 bucks and guess what FREEEEEE DRINKS!!!!

-Boys did Splashin Safari and had a great time. I stayed back with Bella in the RV to give her a break from the heat.

-What more can I say then get your butts to Holiday World and experience the best park ran by anyone in the country. Corporate is over-rated. Go family or go home!

Any questions, ask. Picture link above, more pics will be added later, so keep checking out the album!

Yes, but in a more theme park way instead of carnival type setting.

You gave me more material for my draft...especially since Twisted Twins is SBNO.

Is there anything Holiday World can't do wrong?

And by the way, Southwest Ohio drivers are as bad as...well anything Columbus and south.

I was there for HWN also. The this year's t-shirts are hilarious. I agree about the coasters. They were off the hook Saturday night. Voyage was almost too intense, esp with that pothole that seems to have appeared at the bottom of the second or third hill.

We stopped at KI since we had passes on the way back up 71. Waited 15 min or so for Diamondback.

The accident happened in Kentucky. But, it wasn't pretty, that's for sure.

Holiday World could use a little more in the prize department. The one game Matt played for 2 bucks and all he got was a very small rubber duck that was Bella's size. A little too much money if you ask me. But, he was happy. Holiday World has the right formula for the park it runs. They treat the people that come to the park as like a part of the family rather then a patron. They really do care about our experience and if you email them and ask them to possibly do this, they do actually consider doing so. Most parks go...meh, don't care. Just my opinion though, some just don't like Holiday World. The park just does it for me though.

The Twisted Twins thing really irritates me to no end. It's just sitting back there by Thunder Run rotting for NO reason. Seriously. I think Six Flags is getting poised to sell this particular park off. They have a great small park, but there isn't a whole lot there. The water park was decent looking and some of the coasters were ok. Chang is a good ride, very intense, but very painful on the legs. Mantis was never like that on me. Greezed Lightnin' really is a good ride, very re-rideable and would be a great addition to any park in all honesty.
