PTR: Disney's Christmas Carol Train Tour

Well, this is a Disney attraction after all, so when I heard is pulling into a station a meer 45 minute drive from my home, I decided to head up to get some photos of the attraction which nobody has done yet (mostly because all of you can get into your own car and drive to the great theme parks). No, I have to wait till tomorrow for my first theme park visit (my home park Lagoon) and a month for Southern Cal. Meanwhile, here are some photos of the train tour.

We figured that due to the lack of advertisement, the event would bring a small croud. But the train brought with it a Disney attraction tradition:

Welcome to the begining of a three hour line.

But I guess you can not complain about something that is free. To the right of us, you can see we had a nice view of a historic train which was being climbed upon by little kids. Meanwhile on the otherside we had this:

A train with French on it at an American railroad historic site. Anyway, once we got to the main building it said we had an hour and a half wait left which only turned out to be 45 minutes!

Once inside, we went through a series of wraparounds through the old station before coming to an opening back outside on the other side of the train station. There were actual carolers in thick fur coats and at least three layers in Utah's 80 degree summer heat. Once outside what awaitted us was a 30 minute longer wait alongside the attraction itself.

Once we finally got on board the first thing we got to see were the many faces of Jim Carrey. I unfortunately did not think to take pictures of old Ebenezer and teen ebenezer (Jim Carrey with lots of acne) but managed to only take a picture of little Jim Carrey (note: picture is actually a cartoon!)

Here is Gary Oldman as Tiny Tim:

Here is some of the concept art:

And for you history geeks, some Charles Dickens artifacts:
Charles Dickens' letters:

Some of the earlier versions of A Christmas Carol.

Then we walked into the next car which had many models of the different locations:

Big Ben construction.

More Christmas Carol Buildings including Scrooge Office:

Models of the three ghosts:

The next area showed how they created the realistic animation (note: half person, half mirror)

Then you walk through this circular room with lots of monitors:

One of the monitors:

Another one:

Next they had this room full of HP touchscreens with quizes:

And then they had booths to transform your face into that of a characters (which I could not retrieve today, but will post one of them shortly to show how they work)

This train comes complete with a fireplace!

And then finishes off with a happy holidays, picture perfect, photo area:

Then once you get off the train you walk over here:

To stand in another 20 minute line for a 3D sneak preview:

Well, although the long wait for everything, it all turned otu great, and was definitely worth it! I will have another PTR comming in a few days once I take my trip tomorrow to my home park Lagoon, so that I can show you one of the biggest and best of the family owned parks which was almost bought up by Six Flags 5 years ago (thank goodness!) Until then Happy Holidays and remember to get shoping soon as there are only 188 days until Christmas!

^ That is strange. I will see if there is any way to upload them a different way, as I will need it when I go to Lagoon tomorrow!
