I know that I will be going there in about 2 weeks. If you still need help when I get back from the trip, I can give you all sorts of suggestions! We will be using the Flash Pass too!

Pscyclone is gone. There is nothing worth skipping.

You should be fine if you go on a weekday. All the coasters are worth riding, but if I had to skip anything it would be Superman. If you do decide to ride it, avoid the front of the train as the front row is only 3 seats. I've never bought a Flashpass, but the park is pretty tough to do in 1 day. I've done it a few times, but it depends on the crowds. I get to the park really early and make sure I'm the first in line, then I run to the first train of X2. Viper is next and a walk on. Next would be Tatsu and a short wait by this point. Then to Terminator Salvatoin, short wait by this point. After this, the rest of the park is very manageable. Scream, Colossus, Ninja, and Gold Rusher are usually walk ons at any time of the day. Goliath might see an hour wait. Overall some great coasters.

So, you can go see my trip report over in Southern California 09 thread to hear what I thought about the park!

Hey Everyone... I'm planning a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain and i need everyones help baddly... I'm planning to go mid to late August and i was wondering since it is the end of summer...

1.How are the crowed?

It depends. The park is less crowded on weekdays. Get there early, and stay there LATE. Crowds tend to thin out around sunset.

2.Are the kids back to school yet?

Some public schools are, but others no.

3.What should i skip?

Absolutely nothing. With Psyclone and Flashback gone, all the coasters are worth a try. (Except Percy's Railway and Canyon Blaster which both have a maximum height limit)

4.If you get flash pass, do you have to pay more money to go on X2?... according to the site you do but i wasn't sure if it was for the old one or not.

The old paper-style Flashback has been discontinued. The park uses the new Q-BOT system with a pager-like device. For EACH time you reserve X2, you pay $10 PER person. So if you want to reserve X2 twice, that's $20 per person in ADDITION to the rental cost of the device. On weekends, X2 reservations exceed $10 per person up to $15 or so due to larger crowds and a higher demand for Q-BOT rentals.

5.Is Flash pass even worth it?

What are your priorities? Getting on all the coasters? If it is, Q-BOT is HIGHLY recommended on even a mildly crowded day. Keep in mind the park as 16 roller coasters.

6.Best place to eat?

Mooseburger Lodge in the High Sierra Territory themed area across from Log Jammer. It's a two-story wood-lodge themed restaurant with waiter service serving traditional American fare, it's A/C (so you can escape the dry Southern California heat) and is very beautifully decorated inside. There are even statues of moose that will occasionally start talking or singing. Really fun.

They also have a Panda Express (adjacent to Viper) if you feel like Chinese food.

There are also great Mexican grill (tacos, burritos, fajitas) food scattered across the park.

And there are also 3 Johnny Rockets.

A Coldstone Creamery location.

And two Papa John's Pizza.

7.The food around the same price as every other six flags park?

Generally speaking, yes.

8.Best times to hit what ride?

X2 and Terminator Salvation: The Ride are both a MUST ride at night. The flame-throwers really make a difference at night.
