PTR: Lagoon

Okay so here is my very first trip report of the year all about my home park, Lagoon!

So, since we live 45 minutes from the park we decided to get a season pass this year. When we got there, the parking lot was almost empty! This was at 4 P.M. on a Wdnesday Night! Anyway once we got to the park we first went for the classic wooden coaster of Lagoon, Roller Coaster. Sorry, I had forgotten the camera on this first part but there is much to tell! Since I had finally gotten my sister to like roller coasters other than the Matterhorn and Gadget Go Coaster, this was her favorite, so we waited for the front. I just have to say, this 1921 is old, but it is great and even has an ACE plaque saying it is to prove it. Though it does need a little bit of work as for as roughness goes, as the car felt as if it was about to fall off the track.

So, no intro for this first picture as it pretty much explains the next ride as well as how it was:

This happens to be my #1 steel coaster and it is purely Whicked! what with its unique 55 mph launch straight up a 110 ft. hill, then straight down, into some trims (which are not that bad), overbank curve, zero-g-roll, midcourse brakes, more curves, a few quick turns drop, then brakes. Wheh! All in 55 seconds. And not to mention built by Zierer!

So after Wicked! came the very first spinning coaster in North America, Spider.

It truely is an awesome ride and one of my favorites! After this we made our way to the Pioneer Village section of Lagoon at the back of the park. Just think of it as the western area at Knott's but without Ghost Rider, and a lot more themed! (surprise)
First stop there, Rattlesnake Rapids, the Intamin rapids ride here at Lagoon.

I truely challenge any of you to name a rapids ride that is better and more themed than this one (other than Grizzly River Run and Kali River Rapids) after you see these pictures:

The realistic western town with saw mill:

The dark mist tunnel (unique!):

The coin operrated water sprayers (you put a quarter in, hit the big red button and wait for water to spray at a raft coming by from an unexpected location):

And the very nice waterfall at the end(well at least, its nice as long as you don't go under it):

So after this, since we only had 2 hours left in the park we decided to head for the #1 reason to go to this park: SPACE SCRAMBLER!!!!! Ooooooooooo...aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Yeah, my sister's call:

A view of some great rides we unfortunately did not get to ride:
Jet Star 2:

Sky Scraper:

The Rocket:
After passing by these, we made our way to the second best ride in the park (behind Wicked!): SAMURAI!

^Look at the line!

This is the best of its kind as it involves music and mist effects as long with it just being plain amazing!

Once we rode this we finished up the nigh with some rides on the real "coaster section of the park (Wild Mouse, Colossus, Wicked!, Spider) as well as The Bat, probably the only vekoma kiddie suspended coaster in the world with an extremly long line! HEre are the rest of the pictures as I need to go!:

Great trip Report. The Rapids ride looks like a lot of fun. Mist tunnels are fun. The raft ride at Story land in glen NH has one.
