GADV tips on lines and the guests themselves...

I have three major questions:

1: Since I have once again been screwed over with the flashpass deal, is it possible to ride all the coasters, the Ferris Wheel, train, Houdini's Great Escape, and maybe some other stuff in one day, on a Monday in early August?

2: I plan to place my cameras in the station bins or at the ride exit or whatever (save for the ones that we need lockers for) and right before I board (or right after I run out of good vantage points, whichever comes first) I will put them in my coat and hide them there until I get off. Is there a significantly larger chance of my cameras being stolen than a place like oh, say, Cedar Point?

3: What other rides have lockers? I know KK has lockers, but what other coasters have them?

1. Let me start off by saying that Houdini no longer exists as a ride in the park. Mondays are usually slower days, so you have a better chance with that crowd. I'd probably turn right instead of left at the beginning of the day since everyone will head over to that side of the park and the lines stay pretty stable. Also, don't get discouraged by long lines at Bizarro and El Toro. A full queue for Bizarro with three trains and a terribly slow crew that stacks all 3 trains consistently took me 45 minutes to get through. El Toro with a full queue can actually be a bit long, but nowhere as long as it looks since it moves in waves.

2. If you don't have a camera small enough to fit in a pocket, or you don't have pockets large enough to secure one sufficiently, I'd personally leave it in a locker until you want/need it. I'd rather pay the $11 for a small day locker rental right in the middle of the park then risk losing it. As for the snipe at our guests, I've only ever had something stolen from me at one park, and it was Dorney. Even back when that happened I visited Great Adventure way more than I did Dorney and left my stuff on many a platform. I never really trusted it, but having my friend's basketball stolen out of my bookbag, when it was in one of the cubbies on Talon's platform with the sliding door, I never trusted them again.

Long story short: regardless of location, only trust your belongings with you.

3. Rides with lockers are: Congo Rapids, Nitro, Dark Knight, Batman the Ride, Skull Mountain, Superman: Ultimate Flight, The Great American Scream Machine, Log Flume, Kingda Ka, El Toro, Bizarro.

On a weekday and given tourist attendance patterns the last few years I would say yes, the park could be done. I don't appreciate a swipe on our guests as well. There is a lot less of a chance to place items on the side of any attraction since the major ones have lockers. You should wear pants/shorts with multiple pockets. I like using a caribeaner on my belt buckle. My camera has a drawstring that could attach to that as well as sit in my pocket. My one pair of shorts has a phone pocket.

Well, the problem is that I "secured" my cameras on Magnum on Tuesday, but during the "turning bunny hop", my video camera FLEW out of my pocket (although it was in a less secure one; I thought that it would stay in there because it was a tight fit, but it wiggled itself out) and over the nearby fence. Luckily, it hit the grass, and of the $400 camera (it STILL somewhat works) only $80 or so needs to be done of repairs. I google Earth'ed the distance, and it measured about 100 feet.

I don't want that to happen again. Do you think it would be possible that I could "disguise" the cameras in one of my hoodies or coats that I'd bring on my waist for the day, and just leave them at the station, right where I exit? I don't want to put them in lockers because I LOVE taking photos and videos in the queue and exit paths because they often have amazing vantage points that most people don't normally think about filming/photographing.

No because you're not allowed to leave your hoodie on the side either. It's not even that the park is money hungry (money's not made off of the lockers, as they are run by an outside company), but it's to protect the guests. People were getting stuff stolen off of platforms (like what happened to me), safety concerns with the cluttered platforms due to the items, and lastly, speed of dispatches. Not having that massive cross-train shuffle really makes a big difference.

I agree I am a whole lot more impressed with the lack of cross traffic during station loading because those items are now sorted and stored before you even enter the queue. As Fergie puts its "Boom, boom, pow... I'm so 2008..."

I would hate Six Flags less with the lockers if they did what parks like IOA has been doing where the lockers are FREE for a couple of hours then they charge you.

IOA lockers are not free for "a few hours". Those lockers are a pure ripoff if you make it past the 45-60 minute grace they have. I was on line for Dueling Dragons when it broke down for a while, and when I got back to my locker, it asked for $3.50. THAT is a locker for profit, and THAT is trying to take advantage of the guests, while APPEARING to look nice. Notice that they post no fees, nor the time that they kick in. I personally rather pay the $1 up front for 2 hours. That experience really rubbed me the wrong way...even though I ended up getting my stuff out of the locker for free.

New question:

Seeing as all I want to do is film throughout the queue entrance and exits, I have formulated three separate plans, and I request recommendation on which would be most practical:

A: I simply walk through the entrance line, saying "excuse me" politely when I finish up with a film spot. Once I get near the station, or when I run out of good film spots, I turn back and head out the entrance. I'd have much less problems going through the exits. However, while going through the entrance, someone might think that I'm line jumping, although technically I'm not in line to ride. Although the "reportings" of suspected line jumping seem to be minimal wherever I go as few seem to outwardly care, is it worth the risk of explaining it to the staff if they pull me over?

B: Ask the staff members at the entrance if I could go through the queue to film, and then return back through the entrance a few minutes later. Same thing for the exits.

C: Ask management via a prior-written email to somehow get permission to walk through the queue line and return out the front. (I can get my uncle to do this, he's literally paid to do stuff like this.)

That would be great for an April, early season attempt but this is the heart of the season, the fury of people entering the attractions. I can imagine it might be a hassle for something like that. It would catch people off guard like if Waldo just suddenly showed up.

How about getting Media clearance?

You'd never be able to simply walk through the queue line just saying "excuse me" since the No Loose Articles policy prohibits those items from entering the queue, even if the person holding them is a non-rider. This is to stop those non-riders from deciding to be riders, then creating a problem in the station. Your only option would be writing the park and getting access as media, but you probably still wouldn't get those spots you're looking for if they are in queues.

Good luck.

Does anyone know what this "media clearance" would get me specifically? (I'm considering this route, especially since my uncle is paid to do stuff like this.)

I'd rather be there to ride than to photo/video loading and unloading procedures/trains. Hop on the train and enjoy.
