| SFGADV TR August 8-11th
These past few days, I had the chance to go to SFGADV and experience their amazing lineup of coasters. We left at 5 oclock in the morning and arrived at the Holiday Inn near the park at 4:30. The next day was out first day at the park. It rained in the morning which scared off the crowds thankfully that day, because a few hours laster the sky cleared right up and it was 94 degrees out. First coaster of the day was Great American Scream Machine. Better than I thought it would be because as Arrows go, I`m usually not too impressed. Next up was Superman Ultimate Flight. Superman was an amazing B&M flyer. Maybe because I`ve only been on Zamplerla Volare Flying coasters, but I thought Superman was actually an authentic flyer. The pretzel loop packed some INSANE G`s as well. After this we headed on over to El Toro. Now my number one wooden Coaster, this thing packed an incredible first drop, insane ejector air on every single hill, especially over rolling thunder, and a twister finale. Next was Bizarro which was amazing as well. The speakers in the headrest really didn`t do anything, except for pump you up at the top. The ride was glass smooth and the Zero G roll was epic. Then we took a ride on the Skylift which brought us to Skull Mountain. Skull mountain was really nothing spectacular but it was nicely themed, and the inside of the mountain was pitch black so the maneuvers took you by surprise. Next was the Dark Knight, this coaster was very nicely themed with the whole preshow, the cars and station and the effects inside the ride. Although not universal quality the theming definitely added to the experience. The layout of the coaster was also good, as some of the drops on the coaster took me by surprise. Next was Batman The Ride, another intense Invert by B&M. BTR really packs a punch with all of it`s compact intense inversion, twists and turns. After this we headed over to Nitro and took a back seat ride. Nitro in the back seat isn`t as good as in the front for some odd reason, but the ride still produced great airtime, lats on the curved hills, and a great helix, and finale. I personally rank this above Behemoth for it`s helix and better post MCBR ride. Next we headed on the Sky Ride over to EL Toro again to finish off the day with the bext coaster in the park. Again El Toro Delivered an incredible ride. That Concludes day one. Day 2 we got to the park at 10:15 and lined up near the roped off area and went straight to El Toro. This wait was only 5 minutes but took 25 minutes to wat for the front. The front of El Toro is intimidating to say the least, seeing the whole ride happen before your eyes is really nervewracking. The first drop isn`t quite as good as in the back but the first two airtime hills were. Next we got off El Toro and what do ya know? The whole park experiences a power outage and all the rides are stuck on the lifts and brakes for an hour. So we decide to have lunch and go on the Antique Merry Go Round, by the time were off we see Superman Ultimate Flight Testing so we rush over to the line. Its about 100 degrees fahrenheit at this time, and they're not letting guests into the lineup till it finishes testing. So finally it opened and we rushed in, the ride runs fine for a while. Then they take out a second train which always takes 20 minutes to do. After this the rde runs one train of guests and then breaks down. So we wait and wait until it reopens, and then finally get on Superman 1 hour and 15 minutes later. I gotta say the wait was worth it for this ride, we rode near the back and for some reason the whole ride was a blast for me. I actually love flying coaasters now, Superman's Pretzel loop is so intense it made all my blood rush to my feet. And the next few banked turns are really fun if you put your arms out. Next we headed over to Nitro to try the front seat, which we were pleasantly surprised to find out the airtime and overall ride experience was much better in the front. By this time all the lineups in the park were close to an hour long, so we decided one more ride on El Toro would finish our amazing trip. We headed over to EL Toro and found a 45 minute wait ahead of us. We waited for the back seat and had the best experience on a roller coaster possible. The airtime on El Toro is just unreal, the hill over Rolling Thunder is just insane. And that concludes my trip to SFGADV, although Kingda Ka was down, I still got to experience a huge amount of Quality coasters. Here is a montage of my trip. I'm glad you had a great time. I didn't have high expectations for this park, but I left there with a great appreciation for it. The staff was very friendly and it has some great rides. I can't wait to go back one day. Just curious what steel coaster you have ranked over El Toro? It instantly became my #1 regardless of construction material. |

Thank you for your honest opinion with the NITRO vs. Behemoth.
