14 Hours Later...

From Cleveland, Ohio, Holiday World is a 7 hour drive, if you drive straight through. For my dad, there is no other way to travel.

We left around 11:30/11:45pm EST on Friday night and arrived in Santa Claus, Indiana around 6:45am EST 5:45am CDT. The park opened at 9:30am CDT.

We were driving around, and discovered there was NOTHING for about a 15-20 mile radius, as far as food and Wal*Marts. We ended up going to a Denny's in Dale, Indiana to eat breakfast. Also we purchased our tickets at the Citgo gas station in Santa Claus for $35.95 a piece. $4.04 off the gate price.

Parked pretty close to the entrance and waited the 1.5 hours we had to wait for the park to open.

I must say that this park does a lot of things better than most. They let guests inside the Christmas area of the park about 1/2 hour before the rest of the park opens, and have ropes blocking off the pathways until an employee comes and moves it.

Our plan of attack was to hit up all the coasters in the Front Seat first, then hit a couple rides as well as the water park, and hit the rear seats in the reverse order we had done before.

First coaster was: THE RAVEN

THE RAVEN: (Front Seat, 5 Minute Wait) #98
This is a fairly short coaster, but it is an awesome little bugger. Experienced a lot of airtime, and for the front seat, it was a very smooth coaster. If it would have lasted another 30 seconds or so, they would really have a fine coaster on their hands. But being short was the only downfall I had about this coaster in the front seat. 10/10

Onto THE LEGEND

THE LEGEND: (Front Seat, 10 Minute Wait) #99
WOW! I was not expecting anything this coaster had to offer. From the almost vertical first drop to the flying through tunnels and massive amounts of airtime, it was insane. I kept saying "Oh my God!" the whole ride, and when I got off, I had to sit down to catch my breath. Amazing! 10/10

The coaster I've been waiting for: THE VOYAGE

THE VOYAGE: (Front Seat, 10-15 Minute Wait) #100
Nothing I could have done would have ever prepared me for this coaster! I kept looking at the lift hill and saying to my dad, wow this coaster is 2 feet higher than Mean Streak, but that 2 feet seems to make a big difference. Also I kept telling him about how Ravine Flyer II was set up, since they are sister coasters and all. Not even going on RFII though would have prepared me for this coaster. Airtime like crazy, zero g experienced was similar to what I have experienced on Millennium Force and only the second coaster I have rode to give me butterflies AFTER I have gotten off. 10/10 and Number 1 favorite wood!

We hit up the dark ride, Gobbler Getaway.

GOBBLER GETAWAY: 10 Minute Wait
Good thing about this is waiting in the A/C! This was a fun little ride. It was like The Winnie The Pooh ride, meets Buzz Lightyears Astro Blasters. But it was a fun little ride to say I've at least gone on it once. 9/10

My dad hit up Pilgrims Plunge, but I was not too sure about riding, and that feeling of uneasiness only increased when I watched the boats splash down.

We headed over to Splashin' Safari, where I only hung out in the Wave.
THE WAVE: Lifeguards in this park do not play with safety. There was a young boy who hit his head, and they immediately stopped the waves and helped the young man out of the pool. Also there was a child who went too far into the deep end, and they turned off the waves again until the child was in safer waters.

We headed back into the park and made our second rounds on the coaster.

THE VOYAGE: (Back Seat 10 Minute Wait)
The line moves pretty quickly on this coaster! We actually got to que through the part of the line which goes past the tunnel and I tried snapping the picture as it was going by. I must say that the back is a TOTALLY different experience than the front. I have bruised ribs thanks to the coaster...lol 10/10

THE LEGEND: (Back Seat >5 Minute Wait)
WHOA! The back is even more intense than the front, which is usually the case, but this coaster amazing in the back. Fun times on this ride, and I love how smooth this coaster is, for a woodie. 10/10

THE RAVEN: (Back Seat 1 Train Wait)
The lines had died down significantly when we got in line for this again. Everyone had migrated to the water park and water rides. The back of this coaster isn't for those weak bodied. I have not been banged around this badly since earlier this year when my dad and I rode Mean Streak trimless. My already bruised ribs got another dose...still well worth it! 9/10

I took a trip on Raging Rapids, before taking my last spin on The Voyage.

Raging Rapids was a nice way to cool off. No Thunder Canyon, but still a fun ride, and my dad said there was an old man teaching the children when to shoot the guysers to get people comepletely soaked. 10/10

THE VOYAGE: FRONT SEAT 15 Minutes
Final ride, and best of all by myself. I looked courageous doing this. It was awesome, and front seat has to be my favorite on this coaster. Another 10/10 performance.

Overall the trip was AMAZING! I have a new favorite Amusement/Theme Park, and would love to have the opportunity to work there. 98/100

You get more air on the second hill of Voyage then you get riding Millenium Force three times. Millenium Force is a phenomenal coaster, it has a LOT of things going for it. Airtime isn't one of them, though.

Try a back seat ride in Voyage at night, after a storm has gone through. It's not for the faint of heart or weak of body, but it is amazing.

I'll have to remember that, the next time I go back to this park. I also love how they allow re-rides on the coasters. When I was in line for The Raven the second time, the ride op said as long as no one is inline for your seat, you can ride again...

You know I've been going to HW since 94 the years they built raven, I have to say it takes guts for a small park to step into the BIG league with such a great coaster, yes it small by today standards but you need to remember that Raven was there first and best investment too date. That's what started the wild ride for HW. You also have to know that Raven was there first ride that they took a loan out to build.
Yes I love all the coasters Voyage is the best.
