| Puyallup Coaster Rebuild 2009
I've been following the rebuild of the Puyallup coaster since demotion of the coaster's middle section's southern tip started in April 2009. Anyone interested feel free to check out the photos (and article) I wrote and placed put on my web site. John P. Hinde (who also rebuilt Swamp Fox) is in charge of the remodel and has graciously been giving me photos of the project as it progresses. In the near future I will be going back down the fairgrounds to get another CD of photos he took from the next phase of demotion that started shortly after the 2009 September fair. By the looks of everything, the coaster's rebuild will probably be completed in time for the September fair in 2012. It sure is an interesting process to see up close. And I feel like I'm getting a closer bond with the coaster learning more about it. Here is the link to the page about the Rebuild: Puyallup Project Rebuild (Apriil-May, 2009) Here is a link to the page of this last September fair: September Fair 2009 [Note: I just went down to the fairgrounds today (Nov 1, 2009) and was given more photo CDs from phase two of the construction. The new wood looks awesome! And Mr Hinde has built a nice walkway underneath the coaster structure. This is the second demolition which involves the northern part of the middle section (the other half). The actual construction will take place between now and when the Spring Fair starts in April. Looking forward to when the entire coaster is completed!] Keep checking back for updates and new photos of this project. It might take me a while before the next update since I have two full CDs of tons of photos to sort through and edit in Photoshop before I can add them to my web site's album. But keep checking back anyway. I plan on documenting this entire project! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Lisa Z Roller Coasters of The Pacific Northwest |
