TPOL Reports on 2005 Cedar Point changes

The Point Online (www.thepointol.com) reports on the many different changes at Cedar Point this season.

The Emporium in Frontier Town is being replaced with the Discount Depot. Discount Depot sells discounted and on-sale merchandise.

The Climbing Wall on the Gemini Midway has been removed and replaced with Hi-Striker, which was located on the Wicked Twister Midway in front of Space Spiral.

PKICentral publishes Italian Job photos

PKICentral.com updates with current construction photos of Italian Job Stunt Track at Paramount’s Kings Island. A new 13 minute video of the tour that took place this past Friday at the park. Inside the video is comments about other park improvements that will debut in the 2005 season including Greeters Ice Cream and Happy Days Diner taking the place of Tuckers Roadside Cafe.

Geauga Guide posts construction update

Geauga Guide has updated its photo gallery with photos showing the construction of Wildwater Kingdom as well as the rehab of Raging Wolf Bobs at Geauga Lake.

The photos show that half of Hurricane Mountain has been disassembled and that slide parts have begun to arrive in the South Gate parking lot. The guard tower has been moved from its original location in the Big Easy Bayou to the entrance of Dino Island II

Coaster-Net X-treme Coaster Challenge

COASTER-net.com is proud to present the X-treme Coaster Challenge, a RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 contest free to everyone up to the challenge. Over $300 in prizes will be handed out to participants who survive three weeks in the contest. Judges who work in the amusement industry will eliminate participants every week. (more…)

The Point Online posts off-season photos

The Point Online today updated more than 100 of photos showing construction of maXair and multiple photos taken around the park.

Pictures of the topmost swinging gear and seats are included in the update as are supports and pieces of the floor.

On-site photos reveal footers and the underground portions dug out of Kiddy Kingdom. The floor lowers below ground level after riders board. Segments have not showed on-site yet.

We, as Americans, tend to think of national elections as remote affairs, immune to the influence of an individual vote. But consider: the 2000 presidential election was decided by a mere 537 votes — that was the margin of victory in the decisive Florida election. The final margin in New Mexico was a mere 366 votes.
