Teen hopes to revive defunct amusement park
Alex East, an 18 year old from Wichita, Kans., has been trying to revive the now defunct Joyland amusement park
through his organization, Restore Hope Inc. While he has raised about $6,000, he will need about $10 million to re-open it in the end.
Right now, he is relying strictly on public donations and most of those are just buying their t-shirts. However, now that his organization has been granted non-profit status, he can now apply for grants and accept tax deductible contributions.
