Giant Dipper celebrates 60 million riders
Built in 47 days in 1924, the Giant Dipper has been an icon along the ocean front of Santa Cruz, California. This half-mile 70 foot tall roller coaster has a top speed of 55 mph is marking a milestone of 60 million riders.
All week long the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is giving away trivia drink coasters that include facts about the ride. In addition, 24 Giant dipper riders will receive prizes and recognition as the 60th millionth riders.
