On Thursday a bird collided with a rider on the Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ.
The juvenile male who suffered only minor injuries to the face and neck, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The collision occurred at 4:45 PM on the return hill that leads into the ride's final brake point.
Kingda Ka is the tallest roller coaster in the world at 45 stories, 456 feet tall. The ride reaches speeds at up to 128 miles per hour.
The park notified the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and was cleared to reopen the ride thirty minutes later.
