Tragedy strikes at Drayton Manor when a day of fun turns into loss of life. Carla Knight, 42, passed away after suffering a heart attack after riding Maelstrom. She was there as a part of a school outing with her students.
The Maelstrom ride, which swings riders 70+ feet in the air into the air while spinning, had to be stopped when the operator noticed she was in distress. The first aid team rushed to help and an off-duty doctor assisted in an attempt to save the mother.
The Health and Safety Executive is awaiting results from the case and said that if the death was confirmed as natural it would not investigate the indecent.
Knight leaves behind two children.
