Statement on SOPA/PIPA blackout on January 18

We here at ThrillNetwork.com take online privacy very seriously and are very well aware of the blackout that some sites are doing on January 18 to protest the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Senate's version, the Protect IP Act (PIPA).

We take copyright issues very seriously, we do strongly oppose SOPA/PIPA, as we feel that it will severely limit the Internet as we know it. However, we have opted not to directly participate in this blackout. Instead, we will bring awareness to the issues regarding SOPA, what you can do about it, while allowing our normal discussions to continue.

We ask all of our members to write your state's Senators (regarding PIPA), or your district Representative (regarding SOPA) and state your feelings regarding the matter. Since this is also an election year, you may also want to point out that their support of the bills will result in your loss of support come November. If you do, we ask that you do so in a formal and civilized manner (meaning don't call your Senator an idiot).

If we can do this and spread the word, we can make a difference!
