Euro Disney reported yesterday that profits for the first quarter of 2005 rose 8 percent and that its losses had decreased significantly. This comes as good news for the financially-troubled company, which operates Disneyland Paris.
Euro Disney attributed the gain due to an early Easter season that brought in visitors before the end of the first quarter on March 31 and a reduction in spending. The park’s attendance rose from 5.6 million last year to 5.7 million.

After a large fight last week between 15 teenagers and police, the city of Medford will end the fair. The fair in downtown Medford had been going for over 15 years now and will not be back in 2006. Two police officers were injured when the group of teens went after them. (more…)

Fandango, a Moser spinning ride similar to the Frisbee, will open this weekend. It did not open with the park last weekend as it was going through final testing and final touches on the landscaping. Knoebel’s newest thrill ride will pull 3 G’s as it swings like a pendulum at 120 degrees. (more…)

The parking tax bill was written so narrowly that the law, if passed, would only apply to Six Flags Great Adventure. Local school officials are pushing for the bill to be passed because it would bring in an estimated $500,000 to their budget annually. (more…)

The new Insanity ride on top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas stalled April 20 for more than 80 minutes, and now the family of the girls on board may want to sue.
They don’t want an incident like this to happen to anyone else.
The article deals with one of the girl’s perspectives of the incident. She says the crew did "some things" right, but her father was not treated well as he tried to get to the tower.

Yesterday, a judge ruled that both charges of second degree murder and reckless homicide will stand and that Charles Martin will go on trial on May 11th. Martin’s lawyer had petitioned to get the charges dropped.
His lawyer claims that Martin was not physically operating The Hawk at the time when a Pigeon Forge woman fell to 60 feet to her death. Her restraint failed, causing her fall.
