Teens injured on Connecticut fair ride

On Friday, two riders were sent to the hospital after suffering injuries on a fair ride.

The local fire marshal officially shut down the Orbiter ride at the Berlin Fair in Berlin, Connecticut after parents reported complaints that the safety bar latch was malfunctioning on the ride, and that children were being tossed about.

Hong Kong Disneyland announces annual pass plan

After failing to meet a target of 5.6 million visitors in its first year, Hong Kong Disneyland announced today that it is introducing a variety of annual plans. There are three types of passes based on when they allow admittance; weekdays only, weekdays and weekends with 25 non-specified days, and year-round. (more…)

Universal looks to build new Singapore park

It has been reported that Universal Studios is working on a new theme park for Singapore that would be larger than their current Hollywood location.

Promoters are calling the new park a first-of-its-kind for Asia and are expecting attendance in the five million-visitor range.

Myrtle Beach Pavilion – How do you say goodbye?

How do you say goodbye? That is the question many will be asking themselves over the next two weeks.

The subject would be the closing of the beloved Myrtle Beach Pavilion in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I have been a lifetime resident of Charlotte, North Carolina and since Charlotte is only about three and a half hours away from Myrtle Beach, I spent many summer hours at the beach.

Great America to host cockroach eating contest for Fright Fest

Beginning on October 7, Six Flags Great America will challenge park guests to consume Madagascar hissing cockroaches, in turn for perks.

Having successfully completed of the stunt guests will earn a free T-shirt and a strip of four Flash Pass tickets allowing three friends to jump to the front of the line at all rides through October 29, Six Flags spokesman Jim Taylor said.

Disney developing movie based on Jungle Cruise ride

In a move likely fueled by the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, Disney announced that it is developing a movie based on the Jungle Cruise ride. In the ride, one of Disneyland’s original 22 attractions, guests board boats on a trip down a jungle river, encountering wild animals and other dangers. (more…)

Italy’s Fiabilandia will not close

Via Press Release:

Fiabilandia will not close its gate forever. As communicated today from the park management, the park will continue its activity and respect the calendar for the 2006 season.

The park is also trying to secure that the council won’t jeopardize the normal activities of Fiabilandia, considering the new notification arrived from Rimini council which arranges the temporary occupation of the lands not subject to expropriation for October 2.
