SheiKra goes floorless

Two years ago, Busch Gardens Africa introduced the world to a one-of-a-kind experience: 200 feet up, 90 degrees straight down. And that was just the beginning.

On June 16, the adventure park will reintroduce SheiKra to the world with a new twist: floorless cars that allow riders an unobstructed view of the 70 mph rush.

Williams Grove rides auctioned off

Many of Williams Grove’s rides are up for on February 10. 

The new owners of the land where the park sits are planning a new farmers market and flea market on the site.  No comment has been made at this point whether any of the park’s rides will operate in the new venture.

Nickelodeon close to deal with Mall of America park

According to sources, Nickelodeon is in the final stages of negotiating an exclusive branding-rights deal with The Park at Mall of America, formerly known as Camp Snoopy.

The Star Tribune reports that Nickelodeon would design rides for the seven-acre park inspired by such shows as The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, My Life as a Teenage Robot and Rugrats.  Costumed characters such as Spongebob and Dora the Explorer would roam the park as well.

Carowinds cuts prices, Frenzoid returns, name changes

Carowinds, the park that straddles the North/South Carolina border is dropping ticket prices for the first time in its history.

A regular one-day ticket will cost $44.95, down $5 from last year. A junior/senior ticket — available to those older than 3 who are less than 4 feet tall, and to everyone 62 or older — drops $13, to $19.95. Advance adult tickets also will be less.

Deconstruction at Bell’s Amusement Park begins

Crews have begun deconstruction of the attractions at the historic Oklahoma amusement park.

On January 26, a local news agency paid a visit to the historic Oklahoma amusement park. After 56-years of operating, the park has begun disassembling its attractions.

Disneyland & California Adventure debut new attractions

Something big coming to Kings Island

With Kings Island preparing to celebrate its 35th anniversary this year, the park will receive a "major new thrill ride". The park has confirmed that something big is coming and parent company Cedar Fair has set aside $10 million for the ride’s construction. (more…)
