Steel Venom looks to slither into Dorney Park

When Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. announced that they would be removing not one, but two roller coasters from Geauga Lake park, near Cleveland, Ohio, speculation began as to where the company would relocate the coasters.

X-Flight was relocated to Kings Island and debuted this year as Firehawk, but no official word ever came on where the Intamin-built Steel Venom would be relocated.

Girl’s feet severed at Kentucky Kingdom

A 13-year-old girl sustained injuries during an accident on Superman – Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom at around 4:45pm. Louisville Metro Police confirmed that the girl’s feet had been severed at the ankle. Witnesses claim that they saw a cable from the ride hit the child while the passengers were on their way down during Superman – Tower of Powers free fall.

UPDATE: Timber Tower strands riders near the top

Forty four guests were stranded on Dollywood’s Timber Tower amusement ride Saturday night as the attraction was beginning its cycle.

According to sources, the passenger vehicle became stuck at the top of the tower, causing the ride’s emergency safety system to engage. The passengers remained at the top of the tower for nearly three hours while waiting to be rescued.

Story Land sued over 2004 injury

Story Land, a New Hampshire theme park owned by Kennywood Entertainment, is being sued by a family over an injury on a tractor ride that allegedly happened in 2004 for a non-specified amount.

The suit claims that a seven-year-old girl was struck three times while boarding the ride, suffering memory and speech function loss as a result. The attorney who filed the suit says that he wanted to wait as long as possible before doing so in order to give the girl time to recover. Both Kennywood Entertainment and the Morrell Corporation, which owned the park at the time of the incident, are named in the lawsuit.
