Local town looks to lure Great Wolf Lodge its way

Although Concord, N.C. and Fort Mill, S.C. are still waiting to hear which site is picked for the location of a $100-million indoor Great Wolf Lodge water park and resort, Concord’s city council is planning to vote on project incentives next month.

Great Wolf Resorts announced in May that it plans to build the resort somewhere in the Charlotte, N.C. area.   The company has looked at areas around Fort Mill as well as a 37-acre site off of Speedway Boulevard, near Concord Mills Mall and Lowes Motor Speedway.

Dollywood opens new entrance November 10

Dollywood is changing the way patrons enter the grounds of the Smoky Mountain theme park. Beginning November 10, all traffic will begin using the entrance on McCarter Hollow Road instead of the existing Dollywood Lane entrance.

Debuting Sept. 14, and continuing every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 28, Howl-O-Scream haunts the European-themed park with new haunted houses, scare zones and themed shows. New this year is “The NeverAfter,” an entire village devoted to the macabre.

Six Flags guest approvals hit all-time highs

NEW YORK, PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Six Flags, Inc. (NYSE: SIX) announced today that its guest approval ratings for July, the busiest month on the operating calendar, hit all-time highs in several categories for the 2nd consecutive month.
