As an update to our previous story, Cedar Fair and California’s Great Adventure apparently had a change in heart and changed the name of the former Top Gun coaster for the third time this month and reverted back to the "Flight Deck" name. (more…)

The grand opening of Nickelodeon Universe, the newly revamped The Park at Mall of America, is set for March 15.
Nickelodeon Universe will feature new rides, live shows, attractions, games and daily meet and greets and entertainment by SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and many of the other Nickelodeon characters.

This off season has been anything but boring this year, if you’re keeping track that is. The former Paramount Parks have been changing names faster than Jason Bourne.
The latest episode involves a name change for the coaster formerly known as Top Gun at California’s Great America.

When it was announced that Geauga Lake’s ride side was gone for good and that some of the flat rides and roller coasters would find new homes at other Cedar Fair properties, many enthusiasts started making their wish lists.
Dominator found a new home at Kings Dominion, Thunderhawk headed north, the park’s top spin found a new home out west among many ride moves and just this week Carowinds revealed that it has found a new home for the park’s Chance Yo Yo.

After a few years’ hiatus, Thunder Road (not to be confused with the racing coaster of the same name at Carowinds) returns to Dollywood for the 2008 season.
Come along as bootlegger Luke Doolin tries to evade the sheriff and the revenuers in this exciting three-car chase that tells the unbelievable story one of the Smokies’ most legendary moonshine runners.

Kings Island joins its sister parks also playing the name game, with some ride name changes of its own.
Like Carowinds and California’s Great America, Top Gun has been renamed “Flight Deck”, The Italian Job: Stunt Track has taken the name “Backlot Stunt Coaster” like its cousin at Kings Dominion. Face/Off has taken the same name as its cousin in California, going by "Invertigo" now.

Media and special guests were given a small taste of the Land of Adventure experience today at LEGOLAND® California as elements of the Park’s first-ever dark ride were unveiled during a business news conference. John Jakobsen, president and general manager of LEGOLAND California announced excellent attendance and high guest satisfaction in 2007 and gave more details about 2008 expansion plans.

Sega Corp. and Dubai’s Emaar Properties EMAR.DU have agreed to develop theme parks in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, Emaar said on Thursday.
Sega Corp. is the game publishing company famous for the Sega game systems as well as Sega games featuring Sonic the Hedgehog.
