Six Flags Magic Mountain will announce its 2009 ride this week.
Terminator: The Coaster, a Great Coasters International wooden coaster, will have a 100-foot lift hill, five hills, six banked turns and a station fly-through over 2,850 feet.
The woodie will be built next to Deja Vu on the spot where Psyclone previously stood. Psyclone was torn down in early 2007.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Before an audience of more than 1,000 Cast Members, media and former Ambassadors, Disneyland Resort President Ed Grier announced the 2009 Disneyland Resort Ambassador Team at Disneyland today. Cast Members Danielle DuBois and Quinn Shurian will serve as the 44th team to represent the resort and its Cast as the 2009 Disneyland Resort Ambassadors.

A 70-year-old Elyria, Ohio, man has ridden Cedar Point’s Millennium Force more than 1,000 times this season alone.
Bob Urmanic, aka "Single Rider Bob" because of his bright neon-green T-shirt displaying the words "Single Rider," reached his goal of 1,000 rides in a season on the 310-foot-tall coaster.

TAMPA, FL – On Friday, Oct. 17, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will help kick off Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend in Orlando with a special appearance by the iconic "Raven Twins.” The actresses who originated the roles of Lara and Lana Raven for the advertising campaign will take part in the Zombie Walk opening ceremony, which kicks off the annual three-day horror convention.

Wednesday, about 85 Yo-Yo swing rides were recalled by the manufacturer to repair defects involved in two accidents.
The Yo-Yo ride made by Chance Rides Manufacturing Inc., based in Wichita, Kan is a staple at many parks and fairs around the country.

T-Rex, developed by Schussler Creative, Inc. and operated by Landry’s Restaurants, Inc., features dining and retail in a 30,000-square-foot, 600-seat, family-friendly interactive prehistoric environment. The concept is built around water, fire and ice: Guests are greeted with life-size animatronic dinosaurs among cascading waterfalls, bubbling geysers, a fossil dig site and much more.

As we move into the October month, many people think of Halloween, fall colors, leaves, raking and candy corn. I think of going to Six Flags AstroWorld. Although Six Flags AstroWorld, located in Houston, TX, closed in October of 2005, its legacy lives on not only in memories of the Houston park, but also through its very own rides that thrilled and created memories during its existence.
