On February 24, 2009, Ubisoft announced that it had acquired the official publishing rights for Six Flags Fun Park from its former publishing company, Brash Entertainment.
The video game allows users to enter a virtual theme park world filled with several attractions found at a Six Flags theme park. Challenges, quests, themed areas and over 40 mini-games and rides are among the features of this video game for the Wii console.

Ticket booths at Disneyland were temporarily closed after a powder was found stuck to several window booths.
The substance was found to be fine-grained sand, and the booths were reopened. Some guests entered the park when it opened, but the booths were closed as it was being investigated.

Via Press Release: Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are rolling back prices on their park passes, and offering consumers new ways to save even more while enjoying the Williamsburg-area theme parks.
Starting Monday, Feb. 23, a 1-Park Pass will cost as little as $99.95, the lowest price since 2004. The pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and gives customers unlimited admission to Busch Gardens on regular season operating days.

Via Press Release: Six Flags Over Georgia, the Southeast’s largest regional theme park, announces the start of its longest season ever with unprecedented pricing, new shows, and a monster of a makeover. For the first time in its 42-year history, Six Flags Over Georgia is opening in the month of February. To mark the occasion, the park is hosting the Six Flags Friends Blanket Drive, allowing guests the opportunity to donate a new or gently used blanket and receive 50 percent off main gate general admission during opening weekend. Hard Rock Park is on track to rock and roll again this summer after a judge approved the sale of the park for $25 million on Tuesday. FPI MB Entertainment which hopes to close on the sale by the end of today, plans to reopen the park by Memorial Day. (more…)

Packages begin at $689 – or less than $35 per-person/per-night for a family of four – and include accommodations at a hotel near Universal and unlimited theme park admission. The rock may live on after all.
According to court documents filed yesterday, the rock ‘n’ roll theme park has found a buyer, willing to pay $25 million for the property, as is. The park’s purchaser, FPI MB Entertainment, has put down a $2.3 million down payment and is hoping to close the sale quickly, by Feb. 20 if possible.

Beech Bend will make waves, or at least in a figurative sense when they debut another new ride for the park.
The park has a Chance Sea Dragon swinging ship on the way to the park, and it should arrive late this month.
The ride will be installed on the edge of the lake near the Grand Carousel.

The Charlotte, NC area has fared better than most. It was one of the last cities to go into the red in regard to home values and prices. That doesn’t mean there aren’t many out of work though.
The last two weeks have seen huge numbers show up to apply for jobs at Carowinds and the soon-to-open Great Wolf Lodge just north of the city.
