Because of rising costs, ThrillNetwork will begin offering tiered subscription services April 5. Falling ad income and increased operational costs have led ThrillNetwork to charge for select services.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – Starting in May 2009, Dollywood guests will be able to fly like an eagle over the 150 acre theme park and experience the majesty of the Great Smoky Mountains with the opening of SkyZip. SkyZip is the first multiple station zip-line experience to open in a U.S. theme park.

The latest sign of expansion and "re-Imagineering" in Disney’s California Adventure park is the new illuminated "Paradise Pier" sign on the "California Screamin’" roller coaster.
Installed overnight between Thursday and Friday, March 12 and 13, the sign reflects the "vintage Disney" themeing that is part of the Disney’s California Adventure expansion.

Cedar Point will host its own version of science class when the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort will extend its popular Physics, Math & Science Day to a five-day event this May.
The new Math & Science Week will be held Monday through Friday, May 18-22 and will offer a variety of daily activities and programs for students and teachers.

Geauga Lake Today is sponsoring a public rally to celebrate the Big Dipper coaster and to seek support to save the classic ride.
The rally is open to the public and will include presentations, guest speakers, park memorabilia, videos and photographs. You will also be able to sign a petition to save the coaster, built in 1925.

Goldman Sachs is looking for a more Universal appeal.
The investment firm and partners are offering 111.2 billion yen ($1.1 billion) to take over Universal Studios Japan.
After the transaction is complete, Goldman Sachs will own 61% of Universal Studio, with its partners hoping to control the remainder of the company.

Six Flags Over Texas announced it will keep The Texas Giant wooden coaster closed for the entire year of 2010, the year of its 20th anniversary, for a major renovation work to restore the ride back to its glory condition. This year-long renovation will cost around $10 million and will reopen in 2011. (more…)
