Dollywood premieres Sha-Kon-O-Hey

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Dolly Parton showcased her songwriting in her second musical production in as many weeks at the Dollywood premiere of Sha-Kon-O-Hey!—Land of Blue Smoke on Saturday, May 9.

Billed as “a show as big as the Great Smoky Mountains,” the $1 million production is the largest and most elaborate in the theme park’s 24-year history.

Freestyle Music Park introduces “Flip 5 Live”

FreestyleMusicPark_Logo_2009_05_200Freestyle Music Park recently announced their first new show for the 2009 season, ‘Flip 5 Live.” Flip 5 Live will encourage park guests to participate with the cast by dancing and singing along to a mix of original and cover versions of pop-rock songs performed live. The interactive show will feature 11 performers who range in age from 16 to 19 years-of-age and have different backgrounds and ethnicity. Originating from the Kids of America section the show will take place at Park’s Stars Theatre.

New attractions to open at Tokyo Disneyland park and Tokyo DisneySea park

Tokyo, Japan – Opening in 2011 inside Cinderella Castle in Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland Park will be a new walk-through type attraction themed to the Disney classic film Cinderella. At Tokyo DisneySea Park, the ne w attraction Toy Story Mania! will open in 2012 in the themed port of American Waterfront.

Quassy Granted Approvals for Wooden Coaster, Rides

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Quassy Amusement Park announced today that they will invest in the future of their property within the next few years, which includes constructing its first wooden roller coaster, designed by the Gravity Group.

The currently unnamed coaster will be a part of a $5 million multiyear upgrade to infrastructure and equipment for the century old lakeside park. The park is aiming to have a  rollercoaster the entire family could ride, not an extreme, white knuckling attraction.
