Beech Bend announces, breaks ground on historic park expansion

Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Ky. announced its historic 2010 plans and held a ground breaking ceremony on Friday.

The plans, which include adding two amusement rides, three water park attractions, and an entertainment venue, were highlighted at Friday’s ceremony, and is expected to have an immediate impact to the Bowling Green area with he creation of additional jobs for the park as well as the use of local workers for the projects.

Nickelodeon ends license agreement with Southern Star

After less than three months since announcing their partnership with Southern Star Amusements, Nickelodeon has ended their licensing agreement with the Louisiana based company.  Southern Star was hoping to redevelop Six Flags New Orleans after the devastating affects of Hurricane Katrina left the park all but abandoned.

Voyage getting new trains in 2010

Holiday World announced it is putting Timberliner trains on Voyage next season.

The trains are made by The Gravity Group, the same company that made Voyage. The park says the trains will make Voyage “feel faster and a lot smoother.” Park President Will Koch says the trains “will help a lot” year after year.

Former Six Flags execs buy Nashville Shores

nashville shoresAn investor group led by former Six Flags chairman/CEO Kieran Burke and former president/COO Gary Story have announced the purchase of Nashville Shores water park and marina and announced intentions to add major attractions for the 2010 season.
