PC and mobile game maker Digital Chocolate has announced the release of 3D Rollercoaster Rush, an update to the original PC Flash and mobile phone-based Rollercoaster Rush game.
Made specifically for iPhone and iPod touch users, it features 3D graphics and “life-like” coaster physics, it features 40 unique tracks located all over the world, and includes a race mode for each track. In addition, the game takes advantage of the iPhone/iPod Touch’s built-in accelerometer for its game play.
As with the original game, players have to try to get the best time with the best excitement rating without crashing the coaster. In addition, players can compete in a multiplayer mode (pass-and-play style).
The game costs $4.99 and is available at the Apple iTunes App Store.

Darn, I got excited. I only saw "Rollercoaster game announced..." and thought maybe something in the style of RCT for either the Wii or Xbox 360. There hasn't really been a good coaster game and the Off The Rails game that came out last year wasn't really my style. Maybe one day there will be a new coaster game I'd like.
There's the 2-D version.
Yeah but I'm not much of a PC gamer, never really was. I only played RCT on the PC because I thought it was awesome. I'd much rather play on a console for a variety of reasons such as being able to play it on a big screen, not tied down to a laptop or PC, not worrying if my computer is powerful enough, etc.
I've played Rollercoaster Rush - once I got the hang of it it took 30 minutes to become bored. It just isn't a good game - I don't play games on my phone but I would have to be desparate to want this one. Sorry.
