The writers and producers have revealed what the opening sequence of the upcoming sequel Final Destination 3 will be. From what they have revealed, it looks to detail a lot more, as in gory, than what was shown in the movie Rollercoaster or a recent episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Through pre-visualization via an animated storyboard, Sci Fi Wire was able to see the sequence, which takes place on a 200-foot tall coaster with several inversions. What causes the "disaster" is that the train loses hydraulic pressure, causing the restraints to open and the wheels to fly off, which results in the gruesome injury or death of its passengers.
This sequence, which is slated to be in the beginning of the movie, is meant to be a premonition, as similar sequences were in Final Destination 1 and 2. It will use a combination of a real coaster (from Pacific National Exhibition amusement park in Vancouver) as well as CGI and other Hollywood magic to create the sequence.
