News: Cedar Point looking at lowering ticket prices

Posted Monday, September 26th, 2005 at 7:25 pm by Aaron

Two straight years of declining admissions at Cedar Point is forcing the park to consider guest-boosting programs. One of the most likely options is a reduction in ticket prices.

For the rest of the season, the park has enacted $10 tickets for seniors and children, and may make the changes permanent for next year. Analysts say that lower ticket prices would bring in enough people to offset the decreased revenue-per-person.

Any new pricing system will be announced in January, according to Cedar Fair C.E.O. Dick Kinzel. Kinzel also stressed that no matter what happens with ticket prices, the public can expect Cedar Point’s current rate of additions to remain the same.
