The Walt Disney Company has been in talks with the city government of Seoul, South Korea about building a theme park there in the future. Disney already operates Hong Kong Disneyland, two parks in Tokyo and will be opening a Disneyland theme park in Shanghai, China in 2012.
As Disney tries to extend it’s reach in Asia, the theme park could boost tourism in Seoul by up to four million people per year, said Seoul mayor Lee Myung Bak. Lee hopes to officially announce the theme park as early as next year. The park would also create 18,400 jobs right away for the construction of the theme park.
