Last Saturday, a pump filter malfunction sent 42 people from Holiday World in Southern Indiana to the hospital after resulting fumes created breathing problems.
According to park president Will Koch, the incident sent concentrated levels of bleach and muriatic acid into the water of Bahari River at Splashin’ Safari.
Lifeguards immediately got people off the water ride and closed the area. Staff members also gave oxygen to those who needed it. Will Koch Koch said repairs were made. The attraction has since reopened.
