ORLANDO, FL. August 19th, 2009 – Universal Studios Florida opened up their newest coaster to park guests this previous Saturday for the first time ever. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, built by Maurer Söhne, is a 167 foot tall coaster that reaches speeds of 65 miles per hour. The 12 passenger trains ascend a vertical lift hill and complete the course while pumping out a rider-selected soundtrack. The attraction has operated daily since the first public preview and has now been announced as officially open. Guests can select one of 30 different songs for their ride and on-board cameras caption the action. A high definition video showcasing the new coaster is posted after the break.

Just my luck...this ride finally opened on the day I left Florida
. I guess I'll just have to ride it in November. It looks like a pretty fun ride.
I am so there. Are there direct flights from LA to Orlando? ;-)
I still have my ticket from the Universal Super Bowl promotion. I had a feeling I can get this in October. The turn out of the firehouse into a hammerhead hill that dives just looks sick.
