Today, Amusement Today announced their Golden Ticket Awards, at host park LEGOLAND California.
Among the big winners were a few that weren’t a surprise such as Cedar Point, who won best park again, as well as best water park going to Schlitterbahn.
The Voyage held onto best wooden coaster and the newly renamed Bizarro took home the best steel coaster prize yet again.
There were a few changes though from previous winners, friendliest staff was taken by Silver Dollar City and best shows, was won by Dollywood.

1. Congrats to the Schlitterbahn Co. for taking home all the WaterPark Catagories!!
2. I must admit that I am sad to see Fiesta Texas lose their crown of Best Show park, but I think this just goes to show you that SFI screwed SFFT over by installing those stupid movies and taking away the live entertainment that got Fiesta nationally recognized.
I'm glad to see that Dollywood and Silver Dollar City did so well this year. Both upsetting parks that had been won the award for at least a decade (Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Holiday World). It was also Silver Dollar City's first Golden Ticket win.
I guess it goes to show that the $1.3 million investment for Sha-Kon-O-Hey! was worth it.
It's exciting to see parks win something from parks that have won it year after year after year.

Maybe CP will booted someday from favorite park.
*ducks CP fanboys*
One can only hope Wes. No park is good enough to be voted best 10+ years straight. Too many CP fanboys voteing in these polls every year.
Not that anyone cares anyway. Nobody really looks at the golden tickets as something special except parks and the GP think WOW. It must be great when it's really not.
Prowler FTW!

I was very happy to see Gravity Group/CCI winning 5 of the top 10 spots in the top ten poll this year!
Those guys rock!
I'm ready for Mitch's poll to come out.
I think I should pull out my awards and do it again this year for people to vote on!
The once mighty Texas Giant continues to slip further down....from #3 (in 2001) to #32 (2009) in less than a decade to give you an idea how much worse the ride has regressed since its best years. And yet, it is still the highest ranked coaster in the Lone Star state.
The Texas coasters in general continue to fail miserably in the rankings. Then again, I should be grateful that I even have a 255-foot drop coaster within a seven-hour drive from my home.
It's about time that Dollywood got awards for best shows and Christmas event.
I finally rode The Voyage this year and could compare it to El Toro now. I'm not happy again that El Toro did not get the Best Wooden coaster classification. It should win it.
But Holiday World is 100% perfect, you know that.
I get tired of their awards because they are so biased in my opinion, and you know that most of the people that voted for Voyage have probably never been on El Toro.
Of course Holiday World is in perfectly quiet open gateway to the Midwest. Perfect USA. There's got to be an open Drive-In Theater there.
Of course Holiday World is perfect...they got away with murder a few years ago. I think OJ was operating the coaster in question.
Who was the winner of the best park before Cedar Point began their 12 year reign?
^I think that is when the Golden Ticket Awards began if I'm not mistaken. Unless of course you were being sarcastic and it was a joke. Then I misunderstood.

I'm not sure if the word "biased" applies though. A bias simply implies favoritism and isn't that what these awards are about? Picking out your favorite coasters?
^ Stop trying to play devils advocate, you know I'm always right.

I say biased because frankly do you know any company in another industry that always wins the same award over and over every year? I can't think of any, but I'm sure you will.
I'm not saying I hate CP, on the contrary I love the place. But there are few parks I like more than Cedar Point.
michael jordan didn't win the nba mvp every year but we all knew he was...
^Any post that mentions Michael Jordan gets points from me.

No, can't think of any offhand...
However, as you say that you like other parks more, I like CP the best. So our vote would cancel each other's out. The next person would vote for CP and once again...CP wins!
^^Actually I was being serious, about the winner before Cedar Point. But then if that's when the Golden Tickets started, then I guess my question cannot be answered.
CP has won the title ever since the beginning of the awards. I also heard (don't know for sure) that those incharge of Amusement Today are former CP P.R. people...
