An investor group led by former Six Flags chairman/CEO Kieran Burke and former president/COO Gary Story have announced the purchase of Nashville Shores water park and marina and announced intentions to add major attractions for the 2010 season.
Burke and Story have announced the formation of Nashville Shores Holdings, LLC and acquired the property from Lake View Partners, LLC. The new company will own and operate the water park, marina, and Nashville Boat Rentals, located on 385 acres of land and water on J. Percy Priest Lake in the Nashville area. The property itself is leased from the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers.
While it was made clear that Burke and Story will not build a theme park, it was also announced that the new company will improve existing facilities and expand the water park. An announcement of the new attractions is expected around the first week of December.
Current general manager Martin Strobel will retain his position and continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the property. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This was a bit of a surprise, especially with Burke an Story being involved. It'll be interesting to see what happens (for me, in more ways than one since I do work with the park).
Are they suddenly going to plop in 2 steel and a wooden rollercoaster?
Read the article... they're not turning it into an amusement park.
I read it but I was still speaking about Kieran's possible effects based on what he did at Six Flags.
They are actually limited in what they can do, because of the Corps of Engineers.
I was just trying to be hopeful for Nashville to get some coasters back.
Based on the park map, they need some things Like:
A Wave Pool
Lazy River
Speed Slides
And Maybe a Deluge/ Bowl Slide
Interesting new. Will be interesting to see how the attraction grows. looking at it it looks like a City or state beach that just happens to have a water park.
