Kennywood Park officials today confirmed the name of their new launch coaster to debut during the 2010 season will be Sky Rocket.
The 95 ft tall coaster will launch within three seconds from zero to 50 mph through a course featuring a 90 degree drop, twists, flips, and high G force moments.
Among the key elements are an inverted top hat inversion and a barrel roll. The Turnpike attraction, a fan favorite, was removed with a minimal cutting of trees for the new coaster construction site.
Sky Rocket will feature the use of LSM – linear synchronous motor launch technology. The launch coaster will be the first inverting coaster in the park since the Steel Phantom.

I guess the Aero 360 and King Kahuna don't count as inverting rides.
Fixed it. Thanks bud.
I think they meant inverting roller coasters. I think it was a journalist error.
Yeah i realized that, I just thought it was funny.
Looks like I need to add Pennsylvania to my list of states to visit again for roller coasters. There are about 5 new ones there that I need to conquer. This one seems like it will be pretty cool. Probably won't be the best in the park, but I know it will compliment the park very well. Can't wait to ride it.
