Mulholland Madness is getting a Goofy makeover in time for the 2011 Disney’s California Adventure season.
The makeover will mark the third ride in three years that the park has retooled in an effort to add more classic Disney characters to the under-performing park.
The Goofy transformation will involve removing the giant foldout map of Southern California that seemed to be an attempt to hide the fact the coaster was an off-the-shelf wild mouse.
Inspired by the 1940 cartoon short “Goofy’s Glider,” the ride’s new flying academy back story follows the clumsy anthropomorphic dog’s attempts to teach a group of novice pilots how to fly. Naturally, things go awry.

Like the sign. I liked the new theme from the beginning.
The Dark Knight has still got to be more immersive than this.
