Two riders were stranded while riding aboard Insanity, which is located near the top of the Stratosphere Tower, early Wednesday morning.

Stratosphere officials say the ride stopped due to excessive winds.  The hotel’s general manager noted that Insanity is designed to stop when wind conditions are unfavorable, as it did in this case.

The girls, 11 and 19, spent over an hour looking down toward the ground because the ride had stopped during its cycle.  Neither girl was hurt in the incident.

The ride was back in operation later in the day.
