More About This Park
History:
On Saturday December 19, 1998 The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that a state court jury issued the largest award in the state history of Georgia - ordering Time Warner Inc., former owners of the Six Flags Theme Parks to pay $197,000,000 in compensatory damages to investors of Six Flags Over Georgia.

The investors charged that Time Warner Inc. delayed the installation of major thrill rides which would have boosted attendance and revenues at the park. They also accused park officials of reselling rides at inflated prices and purchasing out-dated rides for the Georgia theme park at prices higher than when the rides were new.

In the verdict announced on Monday December 21, 1998, the jury awarded the investors an additional $257,000,000 in punitive damages. The total award figure was $454,000,000.

This park is mediocre. The park doesn't really have anything special and could really use a hyper.

I liked the park al ot. but its rides were never all open... The new for 2004 coaster was not open in late July. Acro was closed all 4 days I went to the park so was DejaVu and whatever they call the enterprise was also down.. A few other rides just kept stopped working a lot, like the first gen tower.

My good ol' home park. I'm just about sick of SFOG, i've been there way too many times. They need to get something for the thrilseekers soon, or they'll be seeing alot less of me.

It's a fun park to go to but they don't have enough good roller coasters.

This is a nice park. Spoiled enthusiasts who want this place to be a "Cedar Point of the south" would tell you otherwise. Mindbender(amazing), Batman, Superman, Georgia Cyclone and Scorcher are great rides, and if Deja Vu was open once in a while, I'm sure it would be, too. They have a few rides that you won't find in many places (Looping Starship, Great Gasp and Acrophobia). Acrophobia is one of the best drop rides ever built. The one weekness I thought the park had in 2003 was a lack of family-oriented rides, but they added five of those in 2004.

The park is great. Nice atmosphere, the only downside was when I went De'Ja'Vu and Acrophobia were both closed.

This park... good rides, bad service...

The staff is rude, the park is trashy overall. But the rides, sooo good, Mindbender was a kick in the rear, S:UF is unique though cloned, Scorcher is a tight and forceful standup, and GASM is probably the best wooden I rode with some nice airtime.

This park has it's good days and it's bad days. Phil, in my opinion you would have to be an idiot to think that this park does not have anything special! Are you blind? Superman: Ultimate Flight, Deja Vu, Mindbender... The list goes on.

My homepark not only holds sentimental value, it has a great collection of coasters. While only one stands out (Mind Bender), the rest of the line up is pretty good. Scorcher is one of the best Stand-ups (and tops to many folks), Batman is a solid ride, Deja Vu is just amazing (and its been running well this year), Superman is the best of its kind (hey, at least you aren't 20 feet off the ground for this one, there are some nice effects), GASM and Cyclone are both pretty good woodies (Cyclone gives some insane air in the back, but sometimes roughness can hurt the ride a lot) and even Canyon Blaster is pretty good for a kiddie coaster. IMO the only weak coasters are Ninja and Dahlonega...

The park's main flaw is a lack of flats, though their tower rides make up a little bit (fun 4th Gen Intamin, scary 1st Gen Intamin)

Overall one of the best SF parks and I can't wait for Goliath!

A great park, but it needs more rides. I think SFOG could use a coaster like X at SFMM. It would also be cool if they expanded Gotham City. I wish De Ja Vu would be open more.

If anyone wants to know, if you look closely on google maps, you can see parts of past rides behind the employee parking lot, which is behind Superman.

^And Homer S:UF at SFOG was the original so technically it's not a clone.

This is my home park. I worked there for 2 years. I was the assistant foreman at the Great American Scream Machine at the end of 2005, and the Assistant Foreman at Thunder River at the beginning of 2006. But got mad because the moved me to Splash Waterfalls and quit right before summertime hit. (I had another job anyway....but i liked working up there) oh and phil....meet GOLIATH!
