10/10/2003 Newly released documents state that the Big Thunder Mountain ride was inspected just hours before the accident that left one man dead. The mechanics report stated that the ride was in proper working order just before the accident on Sept. 5th. Just minutes before the accident the ride operators heard as described in This Article an "unusual clanking sound" and were preparing to take one of the trains out of service.
