CA Supreme Court to hear "Common Carrier" arguments over Disneyland

11/17/2003

The California Supreme Court has decided to listen to arguments over whether an operator at Disneyland can be considered a "common carrier", which are more subject to protect guests on the ride.

The court voted 5-0, with two recusing themselves from the vote without explanation, to review the ruling made by the 8th district court of appeals in the Gomez vs. Superior Court case. The case was brought by the family of the woman who died as a result of an incident aboard the Indiana Jones ride at the theme park.
