''RIDE FOR RELIEF'' HOSTED BY HERSHEYPARK & WGAL-8

9/21/2001

HERSHEY_ On Saturday, September 29, HERSHEYPARKŪ will be open to the public from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., in order to host a fund raising event. The ticket price is $12.95 for ages 3 and older. Children 2 and younger will be admitted at no charge; parking will be free. Total proceeds from the admission ticket sales of that day will be donated to The September 11 Fund, established by the United Way and The New York Community Trust to benefit New York City, Washington, DC and other areas affected by the September 11 tragedy. Guests are encouraged to dress in red, white, and blue, and share their patriotism.

HERSHEYPARK was originally scheduled to be closed to the public on September 29; however, the group who had booked the facility for a private party volunteered to open the park to the public, allowing this fund raising opportunity to be planned. "As a company, we felt strongly that we wanted to sponsor a fund raiser to benefit the victims and their families. On September 29, HERSHEYPARK will be a vehicle for the people in central Pennsylvania to raise funds for The September 11 Fund as well as a gathering place for people to celebrate our American heritage," said Scott J. Newkam, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co. (the parent company of HERSHEYPARK) "We are proud to be hosting this event," concluded Newkam.

"WGAL is proud to have the opportunity to partner with HERSHEYPARK for such a worthy cause. Like everyone, we have been deeply moved by the tragic events of September 11, and want to do our part to insure the success of this fund raising event." said Paul Quinn, President and General Manager, WGAL-8.

More than 60 rides and a variety of patriotic entertainment will be available for guests. At 6:15 p.m. in the Midway America section of the park, a special "Show Our Support" salute will be presented. The evening will conclude with a dynamic and moving presentation of AT&T NightLights: A Patriotic Musical Laser Spectacular.

The day will feature an array of inspiring Patriotic entertainment and demonstrations which are planned to honor all the people affected by the September 11 tragedy, including the brave men and women who are assisting in the relief efforts. The activities are also planned as a tribute to the United States of America and its leaders and citizens.

Scheduled entertainment includes a variety of local groups such as Pentagon and many community based organizations. Several name act performers have expressed interest in participating in this patriotic salute; information on this website will be updated as confirmations are received. Information will also be available by phone at 717-534-3090 or 1-800-HERSHEY. All the entertainers have graciously donated their time and their talent in support
