By Jerry Huster

Jun. 14th, 2005 -- According to Disney officials, a four-year-old boy died after passing out following a ride on "Mission: SPACE".  The incident occured around 3:30pm Monday afternoon.

"Mission: SPACE" is a ride that simulates a launch into space by exerting high g-forces on riders.  Reportedly, the child passed out while on the ride and paramedics responded.  Park officials say that after carrying the child outside the paramedics were able to briefly revive him, but the child died on the way to the hospital.

Disney shut the ride down for the rest of the day.  It's not known when the ride will reopen.  According to the sherriff's department, the boy met the ride's height requirement of 44 inches.
