News: SFA: Turn in fireworks, get free ticketsBy Aaron |
Jun. 22nd, 2005 -- Those seeking the excitement of launching their own fireworks in Maryland's Prince George's and Montgomery counties this Fourth of July can trade the illegal devices in for another type of thrill-a free pass to Six Flags America. Fire officials in the area say that the promotion is designed to help combat the possession of illegal fireworks, which injure or kill thousands of people in America every year, especially around Independence Day. No questions are asked about those who turn in fireworks. Anyone who does not turn them in and gets caught faces up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. A similar program was held last year. Visit NBC4.com for more. Call (301) 583-2200 to turn in fireworks. |
