News: Hersheypark Annouces Family of the Year

Jun. 29th, 2005 -- HERSHEY, PA – The Wachs Family of Owings Mills, MD was chosen from more than 400 families as the 2005 Hersheypark Family of the Year. Dad and Mom (Kevin and Melissa) grew up in Maryland and enjoyed coming to Hersheypark as children. Now they bring their daughter Mackenzie (age 5) and son Spencer (age 3 ½ ), who love the rides at the Park.

To enter the contest, families needed to send a photo of their entire family at Hersheypark. Residents of many states were represented among the 400 entries. Hersheypark staff reviewed all the photos and then voted to choose the Wachs. The winning photo pictured the family posing with the Hershey’s Kiss costume character. All the family members were wearing Hershey’s Kisses T-shirts.
This summer the Wachs family is traveling to California to visit friends and begin their “Summer of Theme Parks,” scheduled for the first two weeks in August. During the West Coast trip, the family plans to visit four amusement park and a zoo.
